RIP: Paul Walker Dead: ‘Fast And The Furious’ Actor Dies In Car Crash
Actor Paul Walker died in a car crash in Santa Clarita, Calif., on Saturday (Nov. 30), his rep has confirmed. He was 40 years old.
Walker’s team released this statement:
“It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. – #TeamPW.”
Walker was best known for his roles in the “Fast And The Furious” movies.
New Regency, the studio that is behind the popular film franchise, also confirmed the news, tweeting:
TMZ reports that Walker was in a Porsche when the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle. It then slammed into either a post or a tree and then burst into flames and exploded.
It is not yet known what caused the driver to lose control, but the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said that the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 28300 clock of Rye Canyon Loop.
Walker’s other credits include “Varsity Blues,” “Into the Blue,” “Flags of Our Fathers” and “Takers.” He is survived by his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow.
